Today is 35th Birthday T-1, and I'm jacked up like a little kid at the State Fair, for all that I've had very little sugar today (except for the cupcake my coworker put on my desk this morning). The attorney finally showed up, and entered a plea of no contest for me. I had to pay the court fees so now I may not be able to afford to go out on Friday for my birthday, or drive down to Austin to see my brother and sister this weekend.

I had to take the morning off from work to deal with a three-year-old traffic ticket in Ft. Worth. My attorney, to whom I paid money two years ago and from whom I haven't heard since, is not here. If he doesn't show, they have to reschedule my court date. FML.

My family thinks I'm in denial because I won't break down crying in front of them. I can't tell them that it's because they're practically strangers, and I've only allowed myself the most decorous of sniffles even in front of some of my closest friends. Nobody will be seeing the true crumbling that happens when I'm alone, usually in the car.
